Thank you to all who attended our 2026 Annual Meeting!

By a rough headcount, we estimated a turnout of around 100 people. It was amazing to see such an amazing show of support from the community.

We were proud to announce that Jay Young, attorney at PK Law, received this Year’s Conservation Award for his outstanding commitment to promoting agriculture preservation throughout his 40 years of legal practice in Harford County.

We are also excited to announce that Derek Hopkins, Founder of the Char Hope Foundation, received this year’s Volunteer Award for repeatedly donating his time and talents as an auctioneer to help HLT raise vital funds at the annual Party to Preserve fundraiser.

A special thank you to Hopkins Farm Brewery for hosting the event and supporting HLT. The Hopkins family has farmed this land since the 1920’s and preserved 194 acres under a Harford County Agricultural Easement in 1999, making it a particularly beautiful and apt venue.

We’d also like to thank Paul Goeringer, Agriculture Law Extension Specialist at the University of Maryland’s Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics, for delivering an insightful presentation on solar leasing considerations for farmers and decision makers. You can view Paul’s presentation here.
