Second Annual Grow Wild Spring Fling held in Bel Air on Saturday, May 3

May 5, 2025

HLT held its second annual Grow Wild Spring Fling on Saturday, May 3th in Bel Air from 8am-12pm at the intersection of Bond Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. With sunny skies, vibrant energy, and an incredible community turnout, this year’s Spring Fling was a celebration to remember. From the native plant and pollinator vendors to the artisans and other informational partners, every moment was filled with joy, learning, and connection.

Harford Land Trust was thrilled to provide attendees with free giveaways, including over 1,400 pollinator and native plant plugs (in collaboration with Harford County Master Gardeners – University of Maryland Extension), “Let it Bee” tote bags, and 500 tree seedlings (generously supplied by the Harford County Forestry Board). From garden lovers to nature newbies, we were inspired by attendees passion and enthusiasm for the day.

We’re already planning next year’s celebration! Join us for the 3rd Annual Grow Wild: Spring Fling on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 8 AM – 12 PM at 1 S. Bond Street, Bel Air. Interested in being part of the event? We’d love to have you! Reach out to Harford Land Trust to learn more about participation opportunities.

HLT’s Grow Wild program provides tools and resources for landowners, especially in urban and suburban residential communities of Harford County, to convert at least a portion of their yards to more natural space. The program aims to create the conditions for nature to thrive, reestablish natural processes to repair ecosystems, and boost biodiversity.

Harford Land Trust launched Grow Wild in June 2023 in partnership with Harford County Master Gardeners, Susquehannock Wildlife Society, and Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay with grant funding from the Chesapeake Bay Trust and Harford County Government.

Visit the Grow Wild website for more information on upcoming event dates and locations (www.growwildharford.org).
