The Trust's Office
at 3108 Harmony Church Road
Thanks to the generosity of Sally Sayre Van Deusen, since July 2002 the Harford Land Trust has enjoyed its new headquarters in an historic tannery mill at 3108 Harmony Church Road. The small stone building dates to 1842, is in the National Register and is featured in Chris Weeks' An Architectural History of Harford County, Maryland. Ms Van Deusen provides the space and the Trust pays for the electricity.

Ms Van Deusen lives across the road in another historic home converted from a former mill and offered this second structure of her property to HLT at no cost.

For eleven years, the Trust had enjoyed its office in an outbuilding on Mildred S. Kreider's farm "Little Jericho" on Priest Ford Road. She needed the space again and gave the Trust one year to find another, so the new offer was timely and welcome. Both the old and the new headquarters are surrounded by the kind of natural land and farmland we try to preserve in Harford County. Fortunately, most of the surrounding properties have Conservation Easements on them.
