In
the course of receiving our annual membership renewals a while back, something
happened that spurred a change in our thinking. One of our members, Rebecca
Pearce of Baltimore,
wrote a note on the donation form suggesting we use a new description called
“believer” to describe her donation and her feelings for the mission of Harford
Land Trust. We became aware that there are many believers and that when another
is found, it is so important to our organization because we grow. We share our story
of positive human spirit because it is our mission to help our community in
many ways; sometimes it is in facilitating the expansion of a nature park and another
time is enjoying the fruit of new ideas found blossoming from our membership.
For
all who "believe," please help us share our mission by introducing HLT to folks
who want to support us in some way and are not yet members. Harford Land Trust
is embarking on a time-critical membership expansion starting in January.
The environment after all, is where we all meet
Where we all have mutual interests
It is the one thing that all of us share.
It is not only a mirror of ourselves,
But a focusing lens on what we can become.
-Lady Bird Johnson

This is a short message. Please
read the "New Member Challenge," and, when you receive your packet containing
brochures, highlights of our land conservation projects, a map and list of
properties for outdoor activities, share the good news with someone else and
encourage them to join. We need every member to help preserve land and
protect Harford County and its natural resources.
