Paul Hunter earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Frostburg State University in 1997, and his
Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Towson in 2002. In between, he worked as the Publications
Project Manager for The American Society for Cell Biology. He also worked for several years at Grassroots
Crisis Intervention in Columbia, MD. Paul currently lives in Abingdon with his wife Julie, and he works at Harford
Community College as a bit of a “jack-of-all-trades” including academic advisor, career counselor, crisis intervention
specialist, and adjunct faculty. He has been involved in many forms of community service, such as soup kitchens,
tree plantings, road cleanups, Habitat for Humanity, social activities with the elderly and with mentally challenged
children, and offering workshops on everything from basic computer skills to active listening and crisis management.
He loves to travel, and occasionally enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and canoeing.
